Handicaps & Tennis Balls

The Mixed Doubles event is a handicap event. Each pairing will either be on scratch, which means that they will treat their score for each game as if there was no handicap or on owe (O), which means they will start on minus 15, 30 or 40.

The handicaps are as follows:

Andy Barrett & Lisa Wallace = O 40
Michael Mullan & Janet Mullan = O 30
Cathy Law & James Mavitty = O 30
Reg Nesbitt & Mervyna Ormsby = O 15

All other pairings are SCRATCH.

Tennis Balls

A new set of tennis balls will be given to each first round match in each event. The winners will then take those balls to the next round.

The draws are up. You will notice a date against each match, this is the deadline that matches must be played by. There is lots of time so no excuses.

Please do not arrange any Mixed Matches until the handicaps have been agreed. This will be done by the end of this week.

Welcome to the Bangor LTC Club Championships for 2011. This is the 4th year of the newly constituted Championships and this year it will run from 28 August to 24 September 2011. We have the usual events, Mens Singles, Ladies Singles, Mens Doubles, Ladies Doubles and Mixed Doubles. Entry fees are £5 per singles event and £3 per doubles event. If you’re feeling ambitious you can enter 3 events for £10.

The tournament is open to Club Members only and while we want as many members as possible to enter if you don’t want to play but still want to participate you could be a referee or maybe sponsor a prize for one of the events. Perhaps you’d like to help with the Finals Day food and drink. However you think you could help just get in touch with Tracey Wilson, she’ll find a job for you!

Entries open TODAY and you can enter and pay your fees online via our tournament planner site or you can download an entry form here which can be posted in the Championships Box in the Club House (please do not post cash, cheques only, thank-you).

The Rules & Regulations for 2011

Match Format: All Matches in all events are the best of three tie break sets.

Tennis Balls: Will be available for all first round/first matches, the winners will then take the balls on to their next match.

Arranging Matches: For the first round, the player/s at the top of the bracket should get in touch with their opponents. After the first round, the 2nd player/s to go through should contact their next opponent/s. Contact numbers will be available in the Club House or by contacting one of the Tournament Referees at info@bangortennis.org.uk or 07944881703.

Reporting Scores: If possible please update the draw sheets in the Club House with the scores from your matches and/or text the results to 07944881703. You can also email your results to info@bangortennis.org.uk, if you tweet send a DM to @BangorLTC or post a messahe on our facebook page

Get ready for the 2011 Championships

The 2011 Club Championships will take place from 28 August to 24 September 2011. Once again we will be using Tournament Planner software and website to run the event – you can view the Tournament Planner site here. Entries open on 1 July 2011 and close on 22 August 2011.

The draw will be made on 24 August 2011 to allow players some time to organise their first round matches. ALL, (there will be no exceptions), first round matches must be played by 10pm on 5 September 2011 and all remaining matches up to and including semi finals must be completed by 11:59pm on 23 September 2011.
